Assessment And Tracking
For our Nido program, we provide regular progress reports every 10 weeks to keep you informed about your child's development. Our reports cover practical life skills, sensorial exploration, language development, and social-emotional growth. Our teachers offer detailed observations and insights, highlighting your child's progress and areas where they may need extra support. These reports also give you the opportunity to discuss your child's development with the teacher and address any questions or concerns you may have. We believe in open communication between parents and teachers to ensure your child's success.

Development
The Montessori language curriculum fosters learners' spoken language, listening, vocabulary, reading, and writing skills through diverse activities and materials. Engaging in conversations, stories, songs, and poetry, children develop a deep appreciation for literature while enhancing their language abilities. This approach ensures a holistic development of language skills, enabling effective communication, understanding others, creative expression, and engagement with written texts. Overview of the language curriculum:
Vocabulary Enrichment: Activities that build vocabulary and expressive language through conversations, introducing new words, and utilizing Montessori materials.
Phonemic Awareness: Engaging sound games, rhyming activities, and phonics exercises to develop an understanding of language sounds. Montessori materials, such as sandpaper letters, support phonemic awareness.
Letter Recognition and Formation: Exploration and recognition of letters using Montessori materials, practicing tracing and forming letters to develop letter recognition and fine motor skills.
Reading Comprehension: Encouraging storytelling, group readings, and discussions to enhance comprehension skills and critical thinking. Montessori materials introduce phonetic reading materials.
Writing Skills: Development of fine motor skills and self-expression through tracing, forming words, and sentences. Montessori materials provide support for writing development.
Through these components, the Montessori language curriculum empowers learners to confidently engage with language, fostering their overall language proficiency and cultivating a lifelong love for effective communication and literature.
Schedule
Through social and emotional development, learners gain essential skills for overall well-being and success. Self-awareness, empathy, and positive relationships lay the foundation for healthy social interactions, emotional regulation, and effective communication. These skills benefit current and future relationships in various contexts. The Montessori approach recognizes the importance of social and emotional development, empowering children to navigate the social world with confidence, empathy, and resilience.
Assessment And Tracking
For our Casa program, we believe in keeping parents informed about their child's progress. That's why we provide progress reports every half term, giving you a comprehensive understanding of your child's development. These reports cover various areas, including practical life skills, sensorial exploration, language, mathematics, cultural studies, art, physical education, and social-emotional growth. Our teachers carefully assess each child's progress, using clear levels of Introduced, Practiced, Mastered, or Needs More to indicate their understanding and proficiency in each area. Alongside these reports, we also conduct parent interviews to discuss your child's progress, strengths, areas of growth, and strategies for ongoing support both at home and in the classroom. We value open communication and collaboration between parents and educators to ensure your child's success and well-rounded development.
Please note: Casa students will not be napping at the school during school hours
Lunch Policy (Casa Only)
At MIMK, we value the importance of providing nutritious meals and fostering healthy eating habits in line with the Montessori philosophy. We have a lunch policy in place to ensure a positive dining experience for our students. Here are the key aspects of our lunch policy:
Parent-Provided Hot Lunch: Parents are responsible for bringing in a hot lunch for their child in a safe and secured container. This allows children to enjoy a home-cooked meal and maintain a sense of familiarity and comfort during lunchtime.
Montessori Values of Mealtime: Mealtime is viewed as an important social and educational experience at MIMK. We encourage children to practice grace and courtesy by setting the table, serving themselves, and engaging in polite conversation. They learn about healthy food choices, proper table manners, and the importance of sharing meals with others.
Food Allergies: We recognize the significance of food allergies and take them seriously. Upon enrolment, parents are required to indicate any food allergies on the medication form. This information helps us create a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
Water Availability: Hydration is crucial for children's well-being and concentration. Water is readily available throughout the day, and children are encouraged to drink water whenever
